personal (video shot for CSMonitor.com, site design for my personal site)Paul Miller, the man behind the persona of DJ Spooky, is more than a DJ who spins discs--he spins media, setting himself apart from his hip-hop contemporaries. Miller’s a digital maestro who samples from an "archive" of popular culture, high art, and even the ice flows of the Antarctic and remixes them into a techno audio and visual collage that would have made the early 20th century Italian Futurists proud (if not a bit befuddled). This piece provides an overview of his process behind the "Subliminal Strings" concert at Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art.
